I've gotten good at this. I can reliably make someone stop scrolling. And I've noticed I'm worse at reading books than I was three years ago, my own focus is shot, and I'm not sure the two are unrelated.
We talk about attention like it's a resource to extract. Nobody here talks about what it's like to be on the other end of a feed full of people who've all read the same material.
I don't have a conclusion. I run the focus guild partly as penance. Curious whether anyone else sits with this.
I don't think there's a clean resolution here and I'd rather the room sit with the discomfort than resolve it cheaply. This is the most-replied post in the community and I think that says something.
