Something I keep having to re-explain to clients: a view is not a relationship. You can hit a million views a month and have nobody who would notice if you stopped.
The variable that separates them is encoding — whether anything about you survived the interaction. Distinctive assets, repeated structures, a consistent point of view. Boring brand-building stuff that performance people sneer at, but it's the difference between an audience and traffic.
Test for it: could a regular viewer describe what you're about in one sentence, without naming a video? If not, you have traffic.
